Many times I meet people who say they love God but their words and especially their actions say otherwise. True love is not selfish, it wants to please those it loves. If you love God, you will want to do what pleases Him all the time.

Jesus, our perfect example, loved God and man and demonstrated it by his actions. He did nothing for his own benefit. It was for God and man all the time. He said his father has never left him because he always did what pleased him-John 8:29

And of course, all the way to Calvary, He was by man. He was wounded for our transgression; he crushed he was for our iniquities; the punishment of our peace was upon him; And with his wounds we are healed-Isaiah 53: 5

You cannot love someone and the person will not know it, because if you really do, you will show it. God also knows when you really love him, because your words and especially your actions will express it. God is the God of knowledge; by Him actions are weighed – 1 Samuel 2: 3. So how will God know that you really love him?

Obedience

Your obedience to God and His words is the number one evidence of your love for Him. Christ Himself said, “If you love me, keep my commandments.” You cannot love God and be disobedient to his commandments. God cannot be mocked, He who made ears and eyes can certainly hear and see the things you do.
